What is essential tremor (ET)?

Essential tremor is a neurological disorder that causes involuntary and rhythmic shaking of the body. It typically involves the hands, but can affect the head, face, trunk and legs. It starts as an action tremor, noticeable when you perform tasks like drinking from a glass or writing.
